Welcome What is BISS? The British and Irish Sandplay Society (BISS) was established in the late 1980's by our founding director Joel Ryce-Menuhin. BISS is a member of the International Society for Sandplay Therapy (ISST), a non-profit making organisation. ISST was inaugurated in 1985 by its founder Dora Kalff and the organisation was originally based in Zollikon, Switzerland. ISST aims to provide a meeting ground for an exchange of knowledge and experience through training programmes, and by encouraging research on Sandplay therapy. BISS offers a training programme which leads to simultaneous membership of both the National (British and Irish) and International Sandplay Therapy organisations.
